Job Summary
Pharmacist Inpatient Location unspecified. This position involves providing inpatient pharmacy services within a pediatric hospital embedded in the facility. The role includes order verification, product check and release, remote sterile compounding verification, and clinical tasks such as IV-PO, renal dose review, aminoglycoside, and anticoagulation dosing.
Job Details
- Certifications required include BLS (American Heart Association) and a Wisconsin license (acceptable options include ACT 10).
- Qualifications include a minimum of 2 years of hospital experience or residency training; preferred candidates have 3 years of experience.
- The position is based on inpatient roles with variable responsibilities depending on team needs and includes standard pediatric orders.
- Pharmacy technicians staff 24-hour sterile and non-sterile roles.
- Schedule consists of 8-hour shifts on a block schedule in PM/overnight roles of 7/70, with day shifts starting at 0600 and ending by midnight.
- The rotation involves working up to every other weekend and rotating holidays.
- No on-call requirement; call-in may be requested for sick calls.
- The medication dispensing system utilizes Omnicell Automated Dispensing Machines, Cerner Electronic Medical Records, and Pharmacy Keeper for remote verification.
- Dress code is business casual unless entering sterile environment, where facility scrubs are provided.
- Orientation lasts 1-2 weeks depending on specialization, with a cancellation policy allowing client cancellation up to 12 hours every 13 weeks.
- Charting is performed using Cerner.
- License submission is required, and the facility is a Level 2 trauma care setting.
- Shifts are 8 hours with variable start times from 0600 to 1530 and end times up to midnight.
