Job Summary
Radiation Therapist (RTT) Location unspecified. This role involves assisting in localizing tumors, participating in treatment planning, and delivering high doses of ionizing radiation as prescribed by radiation oncologists. The Radiation Therapist serves as a primary liaison between patients and the radiation oncology team, providing essential support to ensure effective patient care.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education, and Experience: Graduate of an approved radiation therapy technology program; Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy; Current state certification for Medical Radiation Technologist; 1 to 3 years clinical experience in all modalities as a radiation therapist through an accredited radiation program; Experience with Elekta or Mosaiq is preferred.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Responsibilities: Assist in localizing tumors, participate in treatment planning, and deliver high doses of ionizing radiation; read and interpret patient images, making correct decisions; effectively communicate with oncology patients, providing compassionate and professional support; collaborate with other healthcare providers such as social workers and dieticians.
• Additional Information: Work requires interpersonal skills to deal effectively with oncology patients for up to eighty percent of work time; computer skills for treatment machines; thorough knowledge of patient image reading and interpretation. Candidates with previous employment within Johns Hopkins system are to be noted on the coversheet and in the work history to verify rehire eligibility.
