Job Summary
Ultrasonographer Echocardiography, ULTRA ECHO Located in an advanced cardiac care setting, this role involves performing high-quality echocardiography examinations, with a focus on adult patients undergoing pre-transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) evaluations. The technologist will utilize expertise in cardiac imaging, particularly in TAVR transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), to support patients with critical aortic stenosis within a specialized structural heart facility.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Heart Association (AHA); Minimum of 200 inpatient echocardiography cases documented by institutional referral.
• Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations, explaining procedures, performing ultrasound procedures with a high degree of technical skill, and monitoring patient comfort and safety throughout the process. The role demands careful review of prior reports and imaging, ensuring quality and completeness of all exams, and notifying readers of critical findings.
• Prior experience with high-end echocardiography systems, particularly Philips ie33 and Epiq, is preferred. Expertise in valvular assessment, spectral Doppler, Pedoff techniques, contrast echocardiography, and agitated saline studies is required.
• Additional preferred skills include TEE, Stress Echocardiography, 3D imaging, and familiarity with protocols for structural heart interventions such as TAVR, Mitral Clip, and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Maintaining ICAEL-accredited laboratory standards and experience with Epic hospital information system are advantageous.
