Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) Templeton, California. This position involves providing basic and critical respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients, with a focus on patients with respiratory diseases. The role requires autonomous work and supervision of others when delegated, supporting the organizations commitment to exceptional patient care in a busy hospital setting.
Job Details
- Education and Work Experience: Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program; Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) credential or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from an approved vendor; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor. Facility-specific licenses include BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Essential Functions: Assess and document prescribed respiratory therapy; administer aerosol and oxygen therapy; draw arterial blood gases; care for ventilator patients; assist in department record keeping and staff training; document treatments and generate required records; instruct nursing staff and patients on respiratory care; perform drainage procedures; monitor and maintain respiratory equipment; support physicians with bronchoscopies; participate in quality control and staff competencies; maintain equipment and supplies; ensure compliance with ventilator and VAP bundles; update diagnoses based on patient condition; assist in specialized procedures and troubleshoot technical aspects of respiratory care.
- Additional Information: Compliance with vaccination requirements; participation in E-Verify; performing other duties as assigned.
