Job Summary
Ultrasonographer General in the en_US location. This position involves conducting sonographic procedures on patients using ultrasound diagnostic equipment under the supervision of a physician and department supervisor. The role focuses on capturing diagnostic images, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation to aid in medical diagnoses within a healthcare setting.
Job Details
- Position Description: Conducts sonographic procedures utilizing ultrasound equipment, assisting in gathering sonographic and other medical data to support physicians in diagnosis. Ensures equipment is operational, reports issues, and maintains records of procedures and billing. Explains examination processes to patients and assists them during procedures. Participates in equipment evaluation and research activities. Performs ultrasound procedures to detect abnormalities such as masses, abscesses, and stones, including basic Doppler scans (hepatic/portal veins, renal transplants, etc.). Executes infection prevention techniques and proper probe handling.
- Required Qualifications: Licensed/certified in ultrasound diagnostics; ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography; ability to interpret physician instructions and patient records; knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, ultrasound physics, safety principles, and equipment/instrumentation; effective communication skills; adaptable team player.
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Preferred Qualifications: Ability to perform general abdominal, small parts, OB-GYN, and limited vascular sonography on diverse patient populations.
- Additional Information: Ability to apply judgment and make informed decisions; experience in operation of ultrasound equipment, PACS system, and basic Doppler techniques; knowledge of ultrasound physics and safety protocols.
