- Additional responsibilities include operating ventilatory equipment, administering medications via nebulizers, performing chest physiotherapy, suctioning, monitoring oximetry and capnography, reviewing chest x-rays, performing EKGs, pulmonary function studies, assisting with procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement, and maintaining ventilatory equipment.
- Performs tracheostomy care, arterial puncture, and tests to assess ventilation efficiency.
- Follows all policies related to laboratory testing, respiratory therapy documentation, and equipment maintenance.
- Performs CPR according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
- Records treatment data and patient responses, communicates with physicians, and ensures accurate respiratory therapy records.
