Description
Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist - Intensive Care Unit at a healthcare facility in Loma Linda, CA. This position involves providing specialized respiratory care for pediatric and intensive care patients, including administering inhaled gases, conducting diagnostic procedures, and performing both basic and advanced therapeutic interventions. Experience in Pediatrics and Pediatric Intensive Care Units is required, with preferred experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Units. Candidates must hold relevant licensure and certifications.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights; Shift hours are 12 hours per day; Minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCB) license, Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), at least 1 year of relevant experience, and must be willing to wear any color scrubs.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Pediatrics and Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience, familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Additional Information: The position requires administering inhaled specialty gases such as heliox and inhaled nitric oxide; performing diagnostic procedures like blood gases, pulmonary function tests, and transcutaneous monitoring; managing respiratory assessments; executing therapeutic procedures including mechanical ventilation techniques, bronchial hygiene, aerosol therapy, and airway care; documenting age-specific care plans, assessments, patient education, interventions, and responses in medical records.
