Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) Location: Not specified. This role involves performing diagnostic and therapeutic clinical procedures within the scope of Respiratory Care Services. The position includes working with neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient populations, executing duties in accordance with physician orders to ensure optimal respiratory health and safety.
Job Details
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as defined in the Respiratory Care Services scope of clinical practice across neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations.
- Assist with orientation and training of Level I and Level II respiratory therapists and students.
- Conduct intra-hospital transports with mechanical ventilators and airway protection devices, including operation in MRI environments.
- Competent in the delivery of nitric oxide, nitrogen, heliox, and other specialty gases.
- Skilled in the initiation and maintenance of pulmonary vasodilators.
- Complete orientations in all intensive care units and acute care areas.
- Evaluate the appropriateness of medical orders and respond accordingly.
- Participate in clinical rounds with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers.
- Respond to consultations in the emergency department.
- Provide education to patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Interpret clinical data and respond to optimize patient outcomes.
- Respond to emergencies across all service areas and serve as a member of the code/rapid response team.
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Skills & Experience: Completion of a CoARC (Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) approved respiratory care program, BLS from the American Heart Association, ACLS, NRP, PALS, Respiratory Therapy License from the state, and RRT certification.
- Schedule Notes: No block scheduling.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must meet all listed educational and certification criteria to be considered.
