Description

Job Summary
Inpatient Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Days - located in the organizations healthcare facility. This position involves providing specialized speech and language therapy services to adult and geriatric patients with neurological and swallowing deficits, including stroke, Parkinsons disease, and other neurological conditions. The role requires a focus on evaluations, treatments, and family education to support patient recovery and communication.

Job Details

Schedule: Dayshift, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: BLS certification, Kansas Speech Language Pathologist license in hand, one year of experience, and ability to work in a hospital/rehab environment.
Additional Responsibilities: Conduct bedside swallow evaluations and modified barium swallow studies, utilize augmentative communication devices and tools, and support patients across acute and rehab units with cognitive, speech, and swallowing therapies.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with diverse communication assessments such as ALPS, BIMS, and Western Aphasia Battery.
Additional Information: Credentialed in acute care, dysphagia management, and familiar with electronic charting systems such as Epic. The candidate must be able to complete evaluations and treatments for patients with complex neurological impairments, including the use of specialized equipment like Nasoendoscopy and Videostroboscopy.
