Job Summary
Xray Technologist in Kings County. This position involves operating radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic images as ordered by physicians. The radiologic technologist will position and instruct patients, adjust equipment settings, and ensure safety during imaging procedures in a healthcare facility setting.
Job Details
- Position Description: Operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of the body as ordered by physicians. Positions and instructs patients prior to examination, adjusts the x-ray equipment, and determines proper voltage as well as current and exposure time for each radiograph. Performs screening procedures, explains procedures to patients, prepares equipment and examination rooms, positions patients, monitors for safety, produces diagnostic images, documents exam information, and reports important details to physicians. Verifies exams on PACS and performs other related duties as assigned.
- Certifications and Education: Associate's Degree in radiologic technology; Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R); Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) in California or Hawaii; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Fluoroscopy license in the state of employment within 6 months of hire.
- Schedule: Evenings, Tuesday through Friday, 4x10-hour swings, supporting both diagnostic X-ray and C-arm coverage, with minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Essential Functions: Performs diagnostic imaging procedures, explains procedures to patients, prepares equipment and examination rooms, positions patients, monitors safety, produces images, documents exams, reports findings, verifies on PACS, and performs related duties.
- Additional Information: Must have C-arm experience to support procedural and surgical imaging needs. All associates are required to receive mandated vaccinations and participate in E-Verify processes.
