Respiratory Therapist PEDS Location: Not Specified. This position involves providing high-quality respiratory care to pediatric patients within a healthcare facility. The role requires evaluation of patient conditions, administration of respiratory treatments, monitoring of respiratory functions, and assisting with procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Position Description: Respiratory Therapist provides intensive respiratory care and patient transport within the scope of professional license, minimizing supervision. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, explaining procedures to patients, and delivering interventions using various ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizers. Performs chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, capnography, chest x-ray review, and basic arrhythmia recognition. Also conducts pulmonary function studies, assists with procedures like bronchoscopy and chest tube placement, manages tracheostomy care, performs arterial puncture, and monitors ventilation efficiency. Follows policies for laboratory testing, performs CPR according to BLS and ACLS guidelines, manages endotracheal tubes, operates ventilatory equipment, maintains equipment, documents all treatments and responses, and communicates patient information during shift hand-offs.
