Job Summary
Pharmacist Inpatient Located in an acute care facility, this role involves managing medication processes, ensuring safe and appropriate medication use, and performing duties as defined by the organization. The position requires providing pharmaceutical care in a manner developmentally appropriate for patients ranging from infants to adults.

Job Details

  • Position Description: Promotes pharmaceutical care by managing the medication process, identifying and preventing potential drug-related problems, and resolving actual drug-related problems. Ensures medication appropriateness based on diagnosis, weight, allergies, and drug interactions. Accurately enters medication orders in the computer and verifies correct medication delivery. Follows aseptic technique and infection control protocols when preparing sterile products.
  • Certifications and Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree; RPH - Pharmacist certification from the state of Texas; valid, unrestricted license to conduct clinical activities.
  • Experience: 0 years minimum required; 2+ years hospital staff pharmacist experience preferred, especially in medication preparation.
  • Schedule: Night Shift, 7 shifts on with 7 shifts off, 12-hour shifts from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Information: Completion of 20 hours of training in sterile products compounding accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education or the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists preferred. The pharmacist will be responsible for ensuring medication accuracy, aseptic technique, and infection control, with ongoing certification re-certification.
