Description

Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) setting. This position involves providing comprehensive respiratory care to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients, with a focus on NICU and PICU environments. The role requires performing a variety of respiratory treatments and equipment management to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, with weekends and holidays as scheduled, requiring a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit; Certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association (AHA), Basic Life Support (BLS) AHA, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) AHA; minimum of 2 years experience working in Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) and/or Level 4 or greater Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU).
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in NICU and PICU settings with proficiency handling ventilators such as Hamilton and Servo, and respiratory equipment including respironics, BiPAP, and Fisher & Paykel HFN.
Responsibilities: Performing all aspects of respiratory care including aerosol treatments, airway management, ventilator management, intrahospital transport, and utilization of specific equipment such as aerogen, Volara, cough assist, IPV, NAVA, and advanced ventilators.
Additional Information: Coordinating with hospitalist or intensivist in-house; department-specific orientation provided based on previous experience; responsibilities include working with adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients in acute care settings.
