Description

Job Summary:

Nuclear Medicine Technologist in a facility setting. This role involves performing routine and specialized nuclear radiology procedures, ensuring high-quality patient care, and maintaining accuracy in technical and safety protocols. The specialist collaborates with licensed independent practitioners for procedures and demonstrates expertise in radiation safety, patient preparation, and procedure execution to support accurate diagnostic outcomes.

Job Details:

  • Location: Not specified
  • Schedule: Days; Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Education: Technical diploma, graduation from a formal diagnostic radiology program
    • Certifications: Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT) Texas Medical Board, Certified Nuclear Medical Technician (CNMT) Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
    • Experience: 3 years of radiology experience across modalities
    • Additional Requirements: Valid licensure, knowledge of nuclear radiology physics and principles, operation and troubleshooting of nuclear medicine equipment, and basic life support certification
    • Location Requirements: No specified location requirements
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Pediatric experience is preferred but not necessary
    • Proficiency in IV placement and quality control of radiopharmaceuticals
  • Additional Information:
    • Conducts patient assessments including verifying pregnancy and informed consent, and adjusting procedures based on patient age, weight, and medical history
    • Prepares and administers contrast agents and mediations in accordance with state regulations and institutional policies
    • Manages inventory and maintains supply levels for continuous exam flow
    • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills; maintains patient confidentiality and provides compassionate care
    • Operates all related equipment, including automated processors, digitizing equipment, R.I.S., and PACS systems
