Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in a healthcare facility is responsible for delivering comprehensive respiratory care to pediatric patients. This role involves evaluating patient needs, administering treatments using ventilatory and oxygen therapy equipment, performing diagnostic procedures, and providing patient education. The position requires operating various invasive and non-invasive ventilatory devices, performing assessments such as chest x-ray reviews, EKGs, and pulmonary function tests, as well as participating in emergency procedures and respiratory therapy interventions. It is a night shift position based on the current assignment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (RT) with valid certification, preferably with pediatric (PEDS) experience. No minimum experience required beyond licensure.
• Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric respiratory therapy experience, experience with ventilatory equipment and invasive procedures, familiarity with hospital protocols for respiratory care.
• Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The respiratory therapist will perform routine and emergent procedures including operating ventilatory equipment, suctioning, arterial puncture, and assisting with complex procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement. Responsibilities also include equipment maintenance, documentation, and communication with medical staff regarding patient response. The role emphasizes adherence to safety protocols and quality standards outlined in hospital policies.
