Description

Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing high-quality pediatric respiratory care, including administering treatments, monitoring patient responses, and performing diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians. The position requires evaluating patient needs, educating patients and families, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal respiratory therapy outcomes. The shift schedule is primarily during night hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 12 hours shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid respiratory therapy certification, education in respiratory therapy, pediatric experience preferred, valid license to practice, 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy
  • Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric respiratory care experience, proficiency in ventilator management, ability to perform pulmonary function studies and diagnostic testing, familiarity with pediatric respiratory equipment
  • Additional Information: The respiratory therapist will provide intensive respiratory care, operate ventilatory and diagnostic equipment, and support procedures such as bronchoscopies, chest tube placements, and tracheostomy care. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate documentation, participating in equipment maintenance, and adhering to all policies related to laboratory testing and respiratory procedures. The role demands effective communication with physicians and patients' families to ensure comprehension of treatments and care plans.
