Description

Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) position located in a pediatric and neonatal care setting. This role involves providing specialized respiratory care to pediatric and adult patients within a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. The position entails float coverage between units, supporting a diverse patient population including neonates, infants, children, and adolescents, with a focus on ventilator management and airway support.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid state license or compact license in hand at submission; at least 0 years of experience; certifications including BLS, RRT, PALS, and NRP; experience with pediatric critical care and ventilator management
  • Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level II experience, community hospital experience, and previous charge experience
  • Float: Float: Float rotation may be required
  • Additional Information: Must be willing to work 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). Candidates are expected to commit to the scheduled shifts upfront during submittal; requests for schedule adjustments post-submission may not be granted. Providers should be prepared to support respiratory procedures such as extubation, intubation assist, airway suctioning, tracheostomy care, and mechanical ventilation management using approved ventilators including Drger V800, VN800, and LTV 1200. Diabetic and nebulizer treatments, as well as oxygen device troubleshooting, are also part of the scope.
  • Submittal Requirements: Candidates must respond to prior employment questions, including any past work at a similar organization, and provide two references covering at least one year within the last three years.
  • Additional Notes: Candidates should be aware that they may be expected to float between nearby facilities as needed. The organization provides communication devices if required; if not supplied, a monthly allowance may be issued for work-related mobile phone expenses, up to a maximum specified amount.
