Description
Job Summary:
Cardiac and Vascular Radiologic Technologist in the community. This role involves performing, assisting, and completing cardiac and vascular radiographic examinations, including active radiographic interventional procedures in the cardiovascular laboratory. The position requires operating sophisticated imaging equipment, positioning patients for examinations, and instructing patients, supporting diagnostic evaluation and treatment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Dayshift, Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. On-call responsibilities required approximately 6-7 days a month, including at least one weekend.
- Required Qualifications: Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience; preferred Bachelors Degree in radiologic technology or equivalent (some certifications may require Bachelors). Experience in Cath Lab or Special Procedures is preferred. Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification is preferred. Radiologic Tech (RT) certification in the state of practice is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor, such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), is required.
- Additional Information: Operates diagnostic imaging equipment to produce contrast-enhanced radiographs of the heart and cardiovascular system during cardiac catheterization to assist physicians with diagnosis and treatment. Positions patients on examining tables, assists with specialized procedures, and manages equipment during imaging. Monitors patient responses, maintains accurate documentation, and supports interventional procedures such as balloon insertions or enzyme instillations. Ensures environmental safety standards and adheres to program protocols during procedures.
