Description
Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist, Pediatric - for a healthcare facility located within a larger hospital system. This role involves assessing, implementing, and evaluating respiratory care services for a diverse patient population, including pediatric and adult patients, with potential responsibilities in critical care units. The position may require floating between units to support departmental needs, including care for COVID-19 patients.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Oklahoma Provisional / Respiratory Care Practitioner License (RCP); Certified / Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) credential through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC); Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from American Heart Association (AHA); at least 2 years of recent staff experience in a large Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) facility; ability to perform medication administration via nebulizer or metered dose inhaler, humidity and aerosol therapy, medical gas administration, incentive spirometry, respiratory mechanics, PEP therapy, pulse oximetry, chest physiotherapy, CPR, mechanical ventilation, intubation, extubating, suctioning, and bronchoscopy assist; strong communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail for clinical and numerical data; basic PC skills for data entry and documentation.
- Preferred Qualifications: EPIC electronic medical record experience (training available).
- Additional Information: The candidate may float between adult and pediatric units and other departments as needed, supporting patient care across various populations. The role involves active participation in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, and the ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
