Description
Job Summary:
The healthcare organization is seeking a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technologist for a daytime position. The role involves supporting various cardiac procedures, including catheterizations, electrophysiology studies, and structural heart interventions, in a fast-paced clinical environment. The technologist will be responsible for assisting with case preparation and patient care during procedures, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to safety protocols.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certification as a Cardiovascular Technologist or equivalent, at least 1 year of experience in a cath lab setting, valid state licensure if applicable, and residence within reasonable proximity to the facility.
- Call Expectations: Call shifts are limited to approximately 7 days per month, including one Friday to Sunday period and four weeknights, with hours from 5 pm to 6:30 am during weeknights and from 5 pm Friday to 6:30 am Monday during weekends.
- Case Types: Procedures include electrophysiology (EP) studies, ablations, device implantations (pacemakers, ICDs), lead extractions, cardioversions, left and right heart catheterizations, transvenous pacing, Impella device insertion/removals, peripheral cases, as well as structural procedures like Watchman device placement, valve procedures, PFO closures, and ECMO.
- Case Load: Operations typically involve three rooms running concurrently, with approximately 5-6 cath procedures daily in cath rooms, and 2-5 cases in EP rooms depending on procedure complexity. This workload can vary due to unforeseen factors such as physician availability, cancellations, or other operational considerations.
- Additional Information: The role requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to fluctuating case volumes and procedural demands, supporting the clinical team in delivering high-quality patient care.
