Job Summary
Histologist in the Histology Laboratory on the nights shift. This position involves performing microtomy, embedding, troubleshooting difficult tissue blocks, and maintaining case integrity in a high-volume histology setting. The role requires recent experience with histology procedures and certifications, with a focus on quality and detail orientation to support laboratory operations.
Job Details
- Schedule: 8-hour nights shifts; start times vary; histology laboratory closes at 22:30. Minimum hours per week: 40.0. The assignment begins on 10/05/2026 and concludes on 01/04/2027.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP); at least 1 year of relevant experience; ability to perform microtomy, embedding, troubleshooting difficult tissue blocks, and routine histology procedures; proficiency with tissue specimens, special stains, immunohistochemistry (IHC), frozen sections, and microscopic exams; knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system being EPIC Beaker.
- Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
- Additional Information: Department specific orientation is provided with daily trainer supervision, and candidates must produce a negative drug screen as part of the onboarding process. No float rotation is specified, and there are no holiday, call, or standby requirements. Dress code requires no specific scrub color.
