Description
Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in a pediatric care setting provides advanced-level respiratory care to patients. This role involves diagnosing, evaluating, treating, managing, and controlling deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system based on physician prescriptions. The position includes acting as a resource for the Certified Respiratory Therapist staff and participating in clinical projects or assignments as needed.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Graduate of a NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care) approved Respiratory Therapist program from an accredited institution; current license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice; certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Preferred Qualifications: N/A
- Additional Information: The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for performing diagnostic testing according to protocol, administering medications, documenting patient care and productivity, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. May be required to float to other departments within the scope of competency and qualifications, as well as be on-call during scheduled shifts. The role emphasizes patient education, safety, and professional development within a pediatric environment.
