Job Summary:
Histologist position available at a healthcare organization located in a hospital setting. This role involves performing histology procedures including grossing, embedding, microtomy, staining, including automated immunohistochemistry (IHC) and manual special stains, as well as processing routine hospital anatomical pathology specimens. The position requires a focus on hospital experience with grossing expertise and histology skills to support routine and specialized laboratory procedures.

Job Details:

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 4:00 pm - 12:30 am, with 8 hours per shift and a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience in histology laboratory procedures, certification as a Histotechnologist (ASCP-HT), Associate's Degree in Science, hospital laboratory experience, and valid state or compact license.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with the Epic (EPIC) charting system; prior hospital or large laboratory experience preferred.
Additional Information: Must have a minimum of 1 year of histology laboratory experience, with a focus on grossing, embedding, microtomy, and staining. Knowledge of special equipment and techniques such as automated IHC, manual stains, and histological tissue processing are essential. The candidate will perform histology including grossing, embedding, microtomy, and staining for routine hospital specimens, as well as manual special stains and automated procedures. Candidate must be flexible to work day-to-day responsibilities involving a variety of tissue types and histological techniques.
