Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist (RT PEDS) in a Level I trauma center setting. This role involves providing specialized respiratory care to pediatric and adult patients in an acute care hospital environment, with a focus on critical care and emergency department procedures during night shifts.

Job Details:

• Certifications, Education, and Experience: BLS and RRT required, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in adult critical care or emergency department settings. Active Illinois license required.
• Schedule: 3x12 Night shifts (1800-0630) with at least 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities: Perform airway management including endotracheal tube placement, suctioning, extubation, and intubation assist; administer oxygen therapy using devices like bag and mask, high flow nasal cannula, and ventilators; manage mechanical ventilation including BiPAP and CPAP, troubleshoot alarms, and wean from ventilation; utilize Cerner charting system; work within adult critical care and emergency department settings with bedside bronchoscopies.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in trauma level I or II hospital settings, certification in airway management devices, and familiarity with Cerner.
• Additional Information: Open to first-time travelers, flexible with schedule requests, and requires active Illinois license before beginning. Candidate must complete orientation modules prior to start and be available to work holidays as required.
