Description

Job Summary:
Ultrasonographer General in a healthcare setting. This role involves performing ultrasound studies, maintaining specialized equipment, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. The position requires collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals to contribute to accurate diagnosis and patient care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 10-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with call nights and weekends.
  • Required Qualifications: ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, strong experience in obstetric (OB) and vascular ultrasound, and completion of an accredited ultrasonic training program. Two (2) years or equivalent paid ultrasound experience preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ultrasound equipment calibration and maintenance, surgical biopsy and aspiration procedures, and proficiency with ancillary devices such as oscilloscopes, cameras, and video recorders.
  • Responsibilities include documenting patient information, operating complex ultrasound equipment, educating students and staff, preparing patients and rooms, and participating in reading sessions with physicians.
  • In addition, ensures safety standards are followed, maintains equipment and work areas, and assists with clinical procedures such as biopsies and aspirations.
  • Skills: Ultra sound studies, clinical history, ultrasound equipment, surgical biopsy and aspiration procedures, patient care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, first-aid care, vascular experience, OB experience, oscilloscopes, cameras, computer billing system, video recorders.
