Job Summary:
Inpatient Physical Therapist (PT) for a healthcare facility in Westfield, Massachusetts. This position involves providing physical therapy services to general medicine patients, primarily with a geriatric population, within a 50-bed medical-surgical unit with an adjoining 15-bed acute rehabilitation unit. The role offers a day shift schedule, with a focus on independent patient evaluations and discharge planning, working closely with MDs, nurses, and ancillary staff.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 8-hour shift, Tuesday through Saturday, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Licensed in the state of Massachusetts; BLS certification through the American Heart Association; minimum of 1 year experience in med/surg preferred; comfortable communicating directly with MDs and staff about discharge recommendations; able to independently follow orientation.
• Preferred Qualifications: 1 year experience on med/surg; effective communication with RNs and CNAs; experience with general debility, cardiac, GI, respiratory conditions, and general orthopedic conditions.
• Additional Information: The therapist will primarily work on med/surg but will assist on the acute rehabilitation unit each Saturday, splitting time between both units. The hospital has a small community setting with a friendly staff, and the position involves general patient care for a predominantly geriatric population.
