Job Summary:
Polysomnographer in a sleep center setting, primarily responsible for performing high-quality polysomnograms, C-PAP titration studies, and multiple sleep latency testing. The role involves utilizing proper testing montages, recording clinical data, obtaining patient consent, completing questionnaires, and documenting sleep studies accurately. The position requires excellent technical skills and the ability to work independently during night shifts to support patient diagnostics and follow-up care.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Graduate of a CoARC accredited School of Respiratory Care with an Associate of Applied Science in Respiratory Therapy; certification in CPR; registered by the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM), National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), or the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) (RST, RPSGT, RRT-SDS); at least 2 years of sleep study scoring experience.
• Core duties include performing and interpreting sleep studies, ensuring proper equipment calibration, obtaining patient consent, completing documentation, and recognizing various sleep states such as sleep efficiency, central apneas, and obstructive apneas with snoring.
• Physical requirements involve the ability to maneuver patients, operate equipment requiring eye-hand coordination, and extended visual concentration.
• The work environment includes a sleep lab with confined space, potential exposure to hazards, and the need for precise coordination and communication.
• Skills include effective communication, technical report compilation, and physical ability to assist patients of varying weights.
