Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist (RT) Pediatric (PEDS) in a healthcare facility located in Templeton, California. This role involves providing essential respiratory care services to adult and geriatric patients, with a focus on pediatric and neonatal populations. The position emphasizes autonomous practice, clinical proficiency, and contributing to patient care outcomes in a dynamic environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program; Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from approved vendor; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor; Facility-specific Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor; AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS; AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS; AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS; minimum of 0 years of experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Two or more years of NICU and Pediatric experience; ability to intubate; familiarity with respiratory equipment and procedures.
• Essential Functions: Assess and document the appropriateness of prescribed therapy; administer aerosol and oxygen therapy; draw arterial blood gases; provide care to ventilator patients; assist in department record keeping and training; ensure compliance with VAP bundle and ventilator protocols; perform drainage procedures; educate patients and families; assist physicians with Bronchoscopies and special procedures; monitor and maintain respiratory equipment; participate in quality control and staff training; provide clinical suggestions to optimize patient care.
