Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) Location: Not specified. This position involves providing specialized respiratory care to pediatric patients, including patient assessment, treatment administration, life support management, emergency response, documentation, and patient education. The role requires quick response and collaboration with healthcare teams to support pediatric respiratory health.
Job Details
- Position Description: The respiratory therapist will examine patients experiencing breathing issues, analyze blood and sputum samples, and conduct lung capacity tests. Responsibilities include providing oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy. Managing and operating mechanical ventilators for patients unable to breathe independently is essential. Providing emergency care such as artificial respiration, bronchopulmonary hygiene, and CPR is also required. Accurate documentation of patient records, consultation with physicians on treatment plans, and assisting with discharge planning are key components of the role.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in respiratory therapy, valid registration as a respiratory therapist, and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Additional Information: This position involves working in pediatric respiratory care, emphasizing rapid response and specialized patient management.
