Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in the acute care setting is responsible for providing specialized respiratory care to inpatient pediatric and adult populations. This role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver treatment plans, managing ventilators, and ensuring optimal respiratory support.

Job Details

• Position Description: Emergency Department: RT of Treatments; average of 2 Respiratory Therapists depending on census. Assignments are based on patient acuity levels, with approximately 25-30 acuities per shift.
• Certifications/Education/Experience: Certifications required include BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support). Must have a California license and be a certified Respiratory Therapist. Minimum of 2 years' experience required; experience with pediatric and adult populations preferred, NICU experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Schedule: Night shifts from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Every other weekend and holiday coverage as per the hospital's holiday schedule.
• Additional Information: The unit has in-house pharmacy services until 10 p.m., with 24/7 access to pharmacy through auto-verification and an on-call pharmacist. The department includes both hospitalist and intensivist coverage, though not 24/7, and staff may be asked to float as needed.
• Charting System: Cerner.
• Licenses and Certifications to Submit: Valid license and all required certifications.
