Job Details

• Position Description: Utilize high frequency sound waves to produce ultrasound images and related data used by physicians to render a medical diagnosis.
• Set up equipment and prepare patients for examinations.
• Select appropriate transducers for each examination.
• Review patient history, physical exam, and supporting clinical data to facilitate diagnosis.
• Position patients on examination tables and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimal views based on departmental policies.
• Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and ensure their comfort and cooperation.
• Provide physical and psychological care throughout procedures to ensure safety.
• Requisition supplies, conduct maintenance and repairs, and prepare related forms for department operations.
• Evaluate ultrasound images for technical quality.
• Maintain accurate radiology records and properly label images.
• Assist physicians with ultrasound procedures, including needle biopsies.
• Instruct units of didactic and clinical education related to ultrasound programs.
• Maintain knowledge of departmental and hospital policies, infection control, fire, and disaster plans.
• Participate in professional development and continuing education activities.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interactions.
