Job Summary
Occupational Therapist Pediatrics in a healthcare setting. This position involves providing occupational therapy interventions to neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) patients, including assessment, care planning, patient and family education, and coordination of continued services post-discharge. The role emphasizes delivering age-appropriate care within a multidisciplinary team.
Job Details
- Shifts are scheduled for days, starting at 8:00 am, with 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Masters of Occupational Therapy, California Occupational Therapy license, current BLS/Healthcare Provider status per American Heart Association standards, minimum of 3 years of occupational therapy experience, including 1 year in NICU.
- Responsibilities include assessing patients, developing and implementing care plans aligned with physician, patient, and family goals, documenting treatment, and assisting in the efficient return of patients to optimal independence.
- Performs duties associated with charge therapist responsibilities and may be involved in orientation of new staff and supervision of therapy students.
- Provides education on therapeutic interventions including fine motor skills, self-help skills, durable medical equipment, and other age-specific occupational therapy services.
- Coordinates with case managers for referral to post-discharge therapy services.
- Must have NICU experience.
