Job Summary
Histologist Histology Location unspecified. This position involves performing accurate and timely processing, staining, and labeling of tissue specimens, including advanced special stains and immunohistochemical testing. The role requires adherence to departmental policies and procedures to ensure quality assurance and safety standards are maintained.
Job Details
- Certifications/Licenses: HT Histotechnician ASCP American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification
- Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; certification as HT Histotechnician by the American Society for Clinical Pathology; ability to perform work accurately, completely, and in a timely manner; 0 years of experience required
- Responsibilities include: working with specimens across multiple workstations, performing advanced staining and testing, preparing and maintaining reagents and solutions, and assisting with equipment care and maintenance
- Schedule: Nights shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum 40 hours per week
- Additional Information: Performs duties of workstations of accessioning, processing, staining, and labeling specimens of cytology specimens; performs advanced special stains and immunohistochemical testing of tissue samples; prepares and maintains reagents, and other solutions and stains according to standard formulas; participates in safety and problem-solving processes
