Job Summary
Ultrasonographer Echo (Ultrasound Technician) in Temple, TX. This position is responsible for performing basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound services for adult patients, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms. The role requires working independently in a fast-paced department to support cardiologists in diagnosing and assessing cardiac abnormalities.
Job Details
- Qualifications: BLS (AHA only), RDCS or RCST certifications; minimum of 3 years relevant experience, extensive Level I trauma experience.
- Schedule: Evenings, 5x8s, 1500-2330, Tuesday through Saturday, 40 hours per week.
- Performs basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures utilizing various equipment and techniques, ensuring high-quality results.
- Identifies and defines cardiac abnormalities, extending examination scope when necessary, and correlates diagnostic test results with cardiac anatomy and function.
- Assists physicians in complex procedures and performs transesophageal studies, calculating measurements and sterilizing probes.
- Prepares patients for procedures, reviews clinical history, and adapts imaging techniques to produce comprehensive diagnostic echocardiograms.
- Conducts daily maintenance of the echocardiography lab and reports malfunctions.
- Acts as a resource for staff, physicians, and students on equipment, techniques, and procedures to optimize patient care.
- Implements new technology protocols and ensures adherence to echocardiography standards.
- Additional Information: Must be able to work independently and keep pace in an extremely busy department. The candidate should have the ability to perform all essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and effective teamwork.
