Job Summary
The Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist in the CCL TECH specialty is based in the healthcare setting. This role involves assisting physicians with invasive cardiac, peripheral diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures, including temporary and permanent pacemaker placements, as well as supporting circulatory support devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps and Impella devices. The technologist will prepare equipment, assist with patient positioning, and ensure the proper operation of diagnostic and technical equipment throughout procedures.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular technologist program or radiologic technologist program or graduate of an applied science program; AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (HCP) Certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 3 months of employment; Within 1 year of hire, must have successfully passed the Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) exam given by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or Radiologic Technologist License.
- Schedule: 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Responsibilities include assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures, operating and calibrating equipment, maintaining sterile technique, managing inventory, and adhering to radiation safety standards. The technologist must lift a minimum of 40 pounds, push and pull at least 100 pounds, and stand for at least 4 hours daily.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with manifold systems for cath lab work, scrub assisting, and table-side procedures.
- Additional Information: The position requires familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring, sterile operative techniques, and advanced cardiac arrhythmia recognition.
