The position requires technical expertise in cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and renal physiology, along with certification and clinical experience in a cath lab setting.

Position Description: Demonstrates understanding of Cardiac, Vascular, Respiratory, and Renal (CVRR) physiology and pathology. Assists with orientation and training of Cath Lab staff. Responsible for special projects and committee participation. Adheres to ethical principles as applied to the role of the Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II. Recognizes ECG waveform morphology and significance, including lethal arrhythmias. Interprets ECG changes related to heart chamber enlargement and myocardial infarctions; responds appropriately. List and describe common cardiac pathologies, symptoms, and treatments. Demonstrates knowledge of all cardiac medications and their pharmacokinetics, documenting indications and dosages. Recognizes laboratory value abnormalities (Arterial Blood Gases, electrolytes, hemoglobin, BUN, creatinine) and alerts physicians as needed. Performs CPR and intervenes during cardiac arrests following ACLS standards. Monitors diagnostic cardiac catheterizations, intervenes during arrhythmias, and identifies coronary anatomy. Calculates hemodynamic parameters, records catheterization events, and monitors patient safety during procedures. Understands supplies required for diagnostic heart catheterizations and monitors imaging technology. Describes fundamental steps in heart catheterization and monitors patients during procedures. Performs cardiac outputs, oxygen saturations, and Activated Clotting Time measurements. Differentiates between PTCA, directional, and mechanical rotation atherectomy. Understands extraction devices such as angiojet, rotoblator, and laser revascularization devices. Explains thrombolytic therapy indications and potential complications for Acute MI. Identifies benefits of intravascular ultrasound and Doppler velocimetry technologies. Describes electrophysiologic testing, pacemaker implants, ablation, and implantable cardioverter defibrillators. Utilizes fluoroscopy systems effectively to ensure procedural visibility.

Schedule: Full-time, weekdays, 8 hours shift; minimum 40 hours per week.

Required Qualifications: High School diploma or G.E.D., graduate of an accredited program in Allied Health Sciences (e.g., Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Exercise Science, or Cardiac or Vascular Sonography), and certification/licensure such as RCIS or RCES preferred. ARRT licensure acceptable with cath lab scrub experience. ACLS and BLS certifications required.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience across all cath/EP procedures; familiarity with merge Hemo documentation system.

Additional Information: Looking for a strong scrub tech with experience in all cath/EP procedures. Capable of working independently and within a multidisciplinary team. Physical requirements include wearing lead aprons up to 5 lbs and assisting with patient transfers.
