Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RRT) Location: UPMC Hamot, 201 State St, 16550. This position involves providing respiratory therapy services and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities. The role requires working under the general direction of a physician, performing assessments, operating respiratory equipment, and monitoring patient responses across various patient populations and care areas.

Job Details

Responsibilities: Reads prescriptions, measures arterial blood gases, reviews patient information to assess condition, determines treatment needs, administers inhalants, evaluates medical orders, interprets clinical data, sets up and operates respiratory devices, monitors physiological responses, performs pulmonary function tests, maintains patient charts, assists with transport of mechanically ventilated patients, responds to all code situations, and performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Knowledge Requirements: Graduate of a Co ARC (Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) approved Respiratory program required.
Certifications and Licenses: Basic Life Support (BLS), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RTT), and NIHSS may be required for certain facilities. State License PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, PA Act 73.
Required Qualifications: Certifications, education requirements, and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
Start and End Dates: Start date 10/12/2026, end date 01/09/2027.
Additional Information: Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
