Job Summary
MRI Technologist in MRI Located in an undefined area, this position involves providing diagnostic imaging services to patients using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) modalities. The role emphasizes accurate image acquisition, patient safety, and patient education, ensuring clear explanation of procedures to foster understanding and cooperation.
Job Details
- Performs MRI procedures at a tech level in accordance with protocols, demonstrating advanced knowledge in radiographic procedures including the use of MRI and other imaging modalities such as X-ray and Fluoroscopy with C-arm and operating room work.
- Practices radiation safety, adhering to As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) standards, and operates equipment consistent with manufacturer recommendations.
- Troubleshoots equipment issues independently, calling for service as needed, and maintains accurate patient records within the Electronic Health Record (EHR), including procedure and supply charges.
- Performs other functions within the clinic as required, including assisting with clerical duties, patient transportation, and cross-training in other modalities.
- Must be self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision, and maintain supply inventory.
- Assists in training or cross-training imaging staff as directed.
- Demonstrates flexibility by assisting in other modalities, adjusting schedules, and taking call, overtime, or holiday shifts as needed.
- Obtains additional training or certification as required to maintain compliance and proficiency.
- Applies full commitment to organizational values, maintains professional communication, and adheres to safety and infection control procedures.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
- ARRT registration in Radiology (R), including Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or must obtain within 90 days of hire).
- Must be at least 18 years of age, legally authorized to work in the United States, pass a background check, and complete pre-employment health requirements.
- No specific experience requirement; however, two (2) years of prior experience as a Radiologic Technologist, CT, and MRI technologist is preferred.
- Cross-training into other modalities, experience with electronic records including PACS and RIS/HIS, is preferred.
