Job Summary
Histologist HISTO (Histotechnology) Location: Not Specified. This role involves performing all aspects of routine Histotechnology, including tissue processing, microtomy, and special staining techniques. The position supports timely delivery of high-quality slides for diagnostic evaluation at a healthcare facility.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Bachelors or Associate Degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or Physical Science from an accredited college or university; HT / HTL (ASCP) certification required; 3 years of experience working as a Histotechnologist/Histo Technician.
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5:30 am - 2:00 pm, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Position involves performing routine and special laboratory procedures involving body tissues and cellular material, utilizing embedding, microtomy, and special staining techniques.
- Responsible for performing routine quality control, maintaining laboratory quality standards, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality slides for diagnostic evaluation.
- Candidates with previous employment in any capacity within Johns Hopkins facilities must disclose this in their work history for verification purposes.
- Candidates should have a minimum of 0 years of experience, although 3 years of experience is specified as the standard requirement.
- No additional preferred qualifications or float requirements are specified.
- Submission requires verification of previous Johns Hopkins employment if applicable.
