Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) Located at a healthcare facility, this position involves providing high-quality respiratory care to pediatric patients. The role includes evaluating patient condition, delivering prescribed respiratory treatments, operating ventilatory equipment, and supporting procedural and diagnostic activities within the scope of a licensed respiratory therapist.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Valid respiratory therapist license, relevant pediatric specialty experience preferred, no minimum years of experience required.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities include operating ventilatory equipment (invasive and non-invasive), administering oxygen and aerosol therapies, performing chest physiotherapy, suctioning, monitoring oxygen levels, reviewing chest x-rays, performing EKGs and pulmonary function studies, assisting with procedures (e.g., bronchoscopy, chest tube placement), performing tracheostomy care and arterial punctures, maintaining equipment and documentation, and ensuring patient safety according to policies.
• Additional responsibilities include following laboratory testing policies, performing CPR per BLS and ACLS guidelines, setting up and maintaining ventilatory devices, and communicating treatment efficacy with medical staff.
• Must be able to insert and remove endotracheal tubes using standard or video laryngoscope techniques, assist with equipment maintenance, and record treatment and patient responses accurately.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
