Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in Loma Linda, CA. This role involves providing advanced respiratory care for pediatric patients in a critical care environment. The position requires documented expertise in pediatric and PICU settings, with preferred experience in neonatal intensive care units (NICU). The respiratory therapist will perform diagnostic procedures, administer therapeutic interventions, and collaborate on patient care plans using electronic medical records.

Job Details

• Certifications: California RCB license, Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), BLS, PALS, ACLS, and NRP.
• Education Requirements: Certification and licensure as specified above.
• Location Requirements: Must have experience in Pediatrics and PICU; experience in NICU preferred.
• Years of Experience: 1 year minimum required.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities include administering inhaled specialty gases such as heliox and inhaled nitric oxide; performing diagnostic procedures including blood gases and pulmonary function tests; conducting respiratory assessments; managing mechanical ventilation techniques including simple, intermediate, and advanced methods; performing bronchial hygiene, aerosol therapy, humidification, airway care, supplemental oxygen therapy, and resuscitation procedures.
• Documentation of age-specific care plans, assessments, patient education, interventions, and responses is required, with records maintained in the electronic medical record system (Epic).
