Job Summary
Speech Language Pathologist Inpatient (SLP IP) Located at the healthcare provider's facility, this position involves delivering specialized speech pathology services to inpatient populations, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, neuro, and trauma patients. The role requires providing therapy focused on cognitive impairments, difficulties swallowing, and bedside swallow studies, with experience in video swallowing studies preferred.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education, and Experience: BLS Certification, Certified Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) via ASHA; 2 years of experience minimum required.
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Tuesday through Saturday, typically from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Position Description:
Unit Notes: The inpatient unit treats patients with various neurological and trauma conditions, focusing on stroke, TBI, neuro, and trauma cases. The therapy may be provided in outpatient and inpatient settings, based on specific department needs.
Candidates will assist in therapy across assigned areas, with potential to float to other areas as needed. The orientation includes 1.5 days specifically in the department, with Cerner training if necessary. - Additional Information: Candidates should have at least one year of clinical experience, with travel and trauma experience preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to perform bedside swallow studies and experience with video swallowing assessments is advantageous.
