Job Summary
Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technologist Location: Not specified. This position involves supporting the cath lab team with various procedures and ensuring safety and compliance standards. The role requires collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide efficient patient care during cardiac and vascular interventions.
Job Details
- Certifications Required: ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) via Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Education Requirements: Not specified
- Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience
- Location Requirements: Candidates must live within 80 miles of the facility
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week, with potential consideration for 9-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Job Duties: Prepare procedure suites, ensure radiation safety setup, calibrate and troubleshoot fluoroscopy and hemodynamics monitoring, assist physicians with device exchanges, guidewire manipulation, catheter placement, balloon and stent deployment, manage radiation dose and imaging angles, assist with room turnover and sheath removals
- Clinical Responsibilities: Support high-volume cath lab with approximately 20+ cases daily, including procedures such as LHC, RHC, PCI, structural interventions, watchman device placement, Impella, IABP, IFR, FFR, IVUS, STEMI cases, and laser procedures
- Call and On-Call: Includes weeknight and weekend call rotations, approximately once every 3 weekdays and weekends, with a 30-minute response time; support for STEMI team, neuro cases, and vascular procedures on a hybrid basis
- Additional Information: Wear provided scrubs and scrub caps; orientation includes 2-3 days of training and shadowing; no call during the first week, then on call with a buddy, and subsequently on their own
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must have a license to submit and note if they have previously worked for the facility, with an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
