Job Summary
Electrophysiology (EP) Technologist - Location: the organization is seeking a qualified EP Technologist to support the electrophysiology unit at the healthcare provider. This position involves verifying orders, patient assessments, room setup, case circulation, administering moderate sedation, and continuous monitoring of hemodynamics within a high-volume EP department.
Job Details
- Positions involve working in a fast-paced EP lab with 7 rooms including cath lab, EP, and interventional radiology (IR) suites, handling an average of 20+ cases daily with diagnoses such as atrial fibrillation, flutter, SVT, VT, pacemaker and ICD placements, and loop recorder implants.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)-American Heart Association (AHA); minimum two years of cath lab experience, specifically with IABP experience; licensure to work in the state; and at least 1 year of relevant clinical experience.
- Schedule: Four ten-hour days per week, from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with rotating days off. May also consider 4-9 hour shifts (6:30 AM-4:30 PM or 7:30 AM-4:30 PM). The position includes weeknight, weekend, and holiday call rotations with a 30-minute response time and approximately once every three weekdays or weekends.
- Additional Information: The role requires verifying patient data, setting up equipment with EMR systems such as Merge and Cerner, monitoring during EP, cardiac catheterization, neuro, and IR cases, and collaborating closely with cardiologists. Extensive orientation and shadowing are provided, with training lasting 2-3 days, followed by on-call duties after the first week. Fluency in scrubbing in multiple rooms and ensuring patient safety during procedures are essential.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must have worked previously for the facility with an end date at least 6 months prior to submission and must clock in and out at the location.
