Description

Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in a neonatal intensive care unit setting. The position involves providing comprehensive respiratory care to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients, including those in NICU or PICU environments. The role requires collaboration within a multidisciplinary team and adherence to clinical protocols.

Job Details

Shift: Days, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Valid respiratory therapist license, certifications in BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), with a minimum of 2 years of experience working in PICU and/or Level 4 or greater NICU.
Experience with ventilators (Hamilton, Servo, Respironics, Fisher Paykel), airway management, and intrahospital transport.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous NICU experience in a Level 4 environment.
Schedule: Day shifts, with a commitment of 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule. Shifts are scheduled on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with staffing ideally consisting of 8 RTs per shift.
Additional Information: The department area covers NICU or PICU, providing care for neonates and pediatrics. All aspects of respiratory therapy are performed, including use of specialized equipment and airway management. The hospitalist or intensivist is present in-house. The orientation period will depend on previous experience, and the facility utilizes the EPIC charting system. BSN and license submission are required, with willingness to wait for licensing approval. The shift schedule includes weekends and holidays as scheduled.
