Description

Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) Pediatric and Adult Trauma and Burn Units, in a large Level 1 Trauma hospital. This role involves providing specialized respiratory care to pediatric and adult patients, assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and responding to emergency resuscitation codes. The position requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a high-stress environment.

Job Details

  • Shift: Days
  • Shift Hours: 12 hours
  • Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, Respiratory Care Practitioner credential from the Indiana Respiratory Care Committee, Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Life Support certification, Neonatal Resuscitation certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Assesses patient for appropriate treatment and develops care plans based on diagnosis.
    • Implements and monitors respiratory treatment plans and equipment.
    • Performs advanced respiratory care modalities.
    • Educates patients and families about health conditions and community support programs.
    • Responds to emergency codes and resuscitation efforts.
  • Additional Information: The successful candidate will work in a facility with over 500 beds, serving as an essential part of a trauma and burn center's adult and pediatric critical care units. The position requires critical thinking, and ability to perform in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
