Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered RT PEDS Location Not Specified. This role involves providing specialized respiratory care to pediatric and adult patients in a high-capacity, Level 1 Trauma and Burn hospital. The position requires assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, and responding to emergency situations in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Qualifications: BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; Respiratory Care Practitioner credential from the Indiana Respiratory Care Committee; Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Responsibilities: Evaluate and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, develop treatment plans based on diagnosis, monitor patient condition and equipment, perform advanced respiratory care modalities, educate patients and families, and respond to emergency resuscitation team codes.
- Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, Neonatal Resuscitation certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics, Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Additional Information: Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently within a stressful environment. Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
