Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist Registered, pediatric specialty. Provides evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, including development and monitoring of individualized treatment plans. Performs advanced respiratory care modalities, administers treatments, educates patients and families, and responds to emergency resuscitation events.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner credential from the Indiana Respiratory Care Committee.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • High school diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, an associate or technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Life Support certification; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Additional Information: Evaluates patients to determine the appropriate type and frequency of respiratory treatments and develops plans of care based on diagnosis. Implements and monitors patient care plans and equipment, documents and communicates patient conditions, evaluates treatment outcomes, educates patients and families about health conditions and available support programs, and works with critical thinking, decisive judgment, and minimal supervision in stressful environments. Standard precautions and required personal protective equipment must be followed.
