Job Summary:
Dietitian specializing in Nutrition at a healthcare facility. This position involves providing nutrition-related expertise to the interdisciplinary team in managing hospitalized patients. The role includes delivering Medical Nutrition Therapy, formulating Nutrition Diagnoses, and ensuring quality patient care through education and counseling.
Job Details:
- Provide quality patient care to diverse patient populations using Medical Nutrition Therapy, including assessment, goal setting, and care planning.
- Formulate a Nutrition Diagnosis and identify Malnutrition through application of Nutrition Focused Physical Assessment and established criteria for malnutrition detection.
- Provide timely interventions based on Nutrition Risk levels and the Plan of Care.
- Execute order writing appropriately, governed by the Dietitian Delegation Order system protocol.
- Demonstrate effective communication as a collaborative member of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Serve as a nutrition liaison/expert to assigned units and committees, responding to needs and initiatives for nutrition care process improvement.
- Deliver appropriate nutritional education and counseling tailored to patient and family learning needs and abilities.
- Participate in department-based Quality Process Improvement activities with an emphasis on evidence-based practice.
- Maintain knowledge of outpatient billing guidelines and perform necessary documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Education and knowledge requirements include a bachelors degree in Nutrition or Dietetics for those certified as a Registered Dietitian (RD) prior to January 1, 2026, or a masters degree for those certified on or after that date.
- Skills required include analytical assessment, interpersonal collaboration, nutrition education/counseling, mentoring, and critical thinking.
- Licenses and Certifications include Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN), Registered Dietitian (RD), and Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Two years of professional experience is required.
- Schedule: Day shifts, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Start date: 10/26/2026.
- End date: 01/23/2027.
- Travel is not required.
