The Ultrasonographer General serves at a healthcare provider in a dynamic clinical environment, performing ultrasound examinations under the supervision of a physician. The role involves utilizing advanced imaging techniques to assist in patient diagnosis and providing exceptional patient care and education.

Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating shift, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with ARDMS in Breast Specialty or relevant department registry, and ability to read and interpret information, operate monitors, and assess patient needs.
• Performs ultrasound examinations according to established protocols, ensuring high-quality, accurate images.
• Maintains American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
• Ensures proper patient identification, prepares patients, and assists with exam procedures.
• Reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy, and evaluates images for clinical relevance.
• Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns during procedures.
• Demonstrates anatomical knowledge and applies imaging techniques effectively.
• Assists and instructs students and other radiology technicians in exam protocols, procedures, and equipment.
• Practices infection control and sterile techniques consistently.
• Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and adverse reactions.
• Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, and reporting equipment failures.
